Instructions
0 Remove the goat cheese from the fridge and let it come to room temperature. 1 In a large bowl, combine the ingredients for the burger patties, from the ground beef to the pepper. Use your hands to mix everything together but try not to overmix. If using 1.5 pounds ground beef, use 1.5 tablespoon Worcestershire, 1 teaspoon each garlic and onion powder, and ¾-1 teaspoon each salt and pepper. 2 Form 4 patties of equal size. Press gently in the middle to make an indentation. 3 Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add a splash of avocado oil. Gently place the burger patties into the hot oil. Cook over medium heat for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the burgers are browned and cooked to your liking. 4 Toast the buns and assemble the burgers: Place the lettuce and tomato, if using, on the bottom half of the bun. Place the cooked patty on top. Spread 1 ounce of goat cheese (¼ of a small log, or a very rounded tablespoon) over the patty. If it is not soft enough to spread, use a spoon to press the goat cheese all over the patty. Add a spoonful of bacon jam on top or spread the bacon jam onto the top bun. Serve immediately.View original recipe
